Background

PT. Tropikal Aqua World was established in 2002 to aid and assist rural farmers and fishermen by providing the market and technical information regarding tropical fishes and coral.

Through research, We found a large demand for Indonesian live corals for aquariums. But with the interest of preserving live coral from extinction, the Indonesian Government imposed a quota, resulting in limited supply to satisfy the demand.   However, the Government encourages coral related businesses to invest in coral transplantation to reduce the dependency on wildlife coral.

In support of our Government's policy, we formed an alliance in 2005 with various local groups of fishermen in the Strait of Sunda, Lampung, and the Thousand Islands North of Jakarta, providing them with finance, information, and equipment for coral transplantation.   With these tools available, they will maintain and harvest while we market.

We are fully licensed under CITES and supported by the Indonesian Government in our efforts to preserve live coral from extinction. We have special packing techniques that are very accommodating for the corals. Before each export, our stock is supervised and inspected by quarantine officials, followed by a seal of approval for each box. This way we are able to fight against the destruction of our wild life and also produce high quality livestock.
